"A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Yesterday, while I was in the bedroom, I heard a hearty murmur of pure and exquisite satisfaction.  Following it to discern its source revealed a Squirt who had gotten into left-over birthday cake and was uttering a low, gutteral, "Mmmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm, mmmmmm" with every bite.  I couldn't even be mad.  It was so adorable, I think my censor for cuteness is irreversibly broken.  Sorry every beautiful baby to come into the world from now 'til doomsday.  Can't beat that.  c;

That's kind of how I feel when I'm kissing and cuddling him.  Like he is full of so much yum and goodness that I want to go, Mmmm, mmm, mmmmmm! and gobble him up!

He is saying more and more words, and parroting what he hears, just to try it out.  But mostly, he is still only concerned with talking aloud to himself, and I suspect that much of it is genuine pretend-play.  I catch snatches of words like "horhee" (horsey), "cookee," "bad," and "tatee" (tractor).

He has a delightful temperament.  He's cross only when he's tired, takes the word "no" with only mild reservation, and is sweet and affectionate, with a dash of mischievousness.  He's in a phase right now where he's putting small objects into his mouth, alarming me every other minute.  He hates wearing clothes.  Whenever I dress him, he immediatly proclaims, in woe-is-me tones, "hole-guuh," which means "take it off" or something of the sort.

He "sings" constantly.  Today,  a woman in the store said, "I thought the television or radio was on at first.  He has such a sweet, beautiful voice!"
