Jan. 15, Feast of St. Marcellus, pope and martyr, who steadfastly held the doctrine of required penance before absolution in the face of persecution from the secular government and rioting from the apostates in his flock.

Afon: wearing the recently crocheted hat I made for him, we take an evening stroll and "discuss" wintertime.

The temperature keeps climbing and dropping, leaving us all with a bit of Celsius seasickness.  The good thing, though, about cold days is the motivation to get out and get active.  And then to come home to warm and cozy house and a steaming pot of asparagus and potato soup with white pepper.  Yum.

  1. I just clicked over from Call Her Happy and I love your blog! I especially love how you start each post with the feast day and a little saint bio. Perfection. Looking forward to reading more.

    1. Aw! It's a neat exercise that I really enjoy doing, but it's double the fun when I know someone else appreciates it. Welcome!
