Theme Thursday: Boys
Oh boy, boys! The two on the outside belong to my best friend from high school. When they came down all the way from the moose pens in Alaska, our first priority was to put these two little boys together. Born within two weeks of one another, easily mistaken for brothers because of their coloring, they're nature's blessing and affirmation of our friendship.
We walked around with these young'uns on the campus of our alma mater, reminiscing fondly of the days we terrorized that tranquil setting, starting with post-acceptance, pre-matriculation tomfoolery in the library. We used to joke we were twins. Both pixie-size, both curly-headed, with similar black-rimmed glasses and perky personalities, it wasn't too off-base. People who saw us around campus knew us as Christie-and-Gena, and once I had a student in the resource learning center point at me, and say hesitantly, "Which one are you . . . Gena, right?"
So the universe claps its hands and shouts "again!" History repeats itself with these two golden little boys.
